What is the base rate of banks in Nepal?

The base rate is the minimum lending rate a bank can charge, calculated from its cost of funds and operating costs under Nepal Rastra Bank rules. Every commercial bank, development bank and finance company publishes it monthly — the rates on this site come from those official disclosures.

What is interest rate spread?

The interest rate spread is the difference between a bank's average lending rate and its average deposit rate — the margin it earns for intermediating money. Nepal Rastra Bank caps the spread that banks and financial institutions may maintain.

How often is this data updated?

Monthly. Institutions publish rates for each Nepali calendar month, and the site is updated as disclosures become available.
